Brentwood High School Alumni Association
Brentwood Alumni Association (BAA) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members' personal information. The purpose of this policy is to inform you of BAA information practices related to the personal information you provided to us when using the BAA Website including:
1. TRUSTEE PRIVACY CERTIFICATION
BAA is a licensee of the TRUSTEE Privacy Program. TRUSTEE is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build trust and confidence in the internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. 'BAA' has agreed to disclose its information practices and have its privacy practices reviewed for compliance by TRUSTEE.
2. COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We collect your information at various points when you use the site. We use the data that we collect to tailor your experience on the site, showing content that we think you might be interested in, and displaying the content according to your preferences
3. WHEN YOU USE THE MESSAGE CENTER
We have developed a Message Center that uses a 'double-blind' email system, which hides the email addresses to protect the privacy of both the sender and receiver. When using the Message Center, it is up to you to choose when you are comfortable disclosing your email address, or any other contact information to others. BAA respects the privacy of members' communication sent through the Message Center and does not read or disclose those communications unless we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or as otherwise required by law enforcement.
4. WHEN YOU USE MESSAGE BOARDS, CHAT ROOMS AND PHOTO ALBUMS
Information submitted to photo albums, message boards and chat rooms is displayed publicly so please exercise care in deciding what information you wish to disclose. Information posted in private groups is viewable by those who are invited to participate by the owner of the group. Please note however, that although private, these communications and postings are subject to the same disclosures as stated above in 'when you use the message center'. To protect the privacy of our members, BAA does not allow the public posting of personal contact information. We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with the public and private forums and interactive areas on the site.
5. WHEN YOU USE THE REUNION CENTER
Designated BAA contacts are provided with tools that support their ability to inform BAA members about their reunion. Please be aware that, as a BAA contact, your email address will be displayed to the member to whom you send an invitation when you use the 'Invitation Tool'.
II SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
2. LEGAL DISCLOSURE
Some disclosure of information may be required to do by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to applicable law, comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on BAA or the site, protect and defend the rights or property of BAA, or investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or violations of our Terms of Service.
